Celebrating ‘All Different, All Equal’ this Anti-Bullying Week

The theme for Anti-Bullying Week 2017 is ‘All Different, All Equal’. The week aims to help children and young people celebrate what makes them unique, and to understand the importance of being themselves without fear of bullying.

Anti-Bullying Week shines a spotlight on bullying and encourages all children, teachers and parents to take action against bullying throughout the year.

Within the past year 1.5 million children and young people have been bullied.

Children and young people can be bullied for all manner of reasons from appearance and accents to gender and race. And although not their fault, it can still have a huge impact on their self-confidence, mental health and wellbeing.

As much as 36% of children and young people who have been bullied said it made them feel depressed, and at least half of suicides amongst young people are related to bullying,

This is why we want to celebrate what makes our children and young people unique, the fact that’s it’s good to be different, and that a pupil’s voice is the most important part of them.

Anti-bullying week is the perfect time to engage your pupils with tootoot and help them Make a Noise about their concerns. To help you launch (or re-launch!) tootoot and embrace Anti-Bullying Week we have created a free anti-bullying week launch pack. All you need to do is download!
